The unveiling ceremony of the new branch building was officiated by the Bishop Kasese Diocese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira with a cerebration of a Holy Mass at the new branch building located in Kasese Municipality.
The Managing Director Centenary Bank Uganda, Mr. Fabian Kasi, extended his congratulations to the Church and the Kasese branch staff for moving into a new home that will enable them to serve the growing customer base better.
“We appreciate the church for believing in our mission and for giving us the opportunity to relocate to the new premises. Centenary Bank was established on a strong Catholic Church foundation and this is reflected in its ownership.
It’s history dates back to 1983 when it started as a credit trust of the Uganda National Lay Apostolate. Normal operations started in 1985 for two reasons; serving the rural poor and making a meaningful contribution to the socio-economic development of Uganda.
In 1993, it transitioned to Centenary Rural Development Bank Limited and it was licensed as a full-service commercial bank.
