MASAKA: The Rotary club of Wakiso together with Mr. Lubowa Ssebina Gyaviira of Lubowa Ssebina Foundation have granted free electricity connection to St. Bruno Ndegeya Primary school in Masaka city.
The school located in Bugabira Parish, Nyendo mukungwe Division in Masaka city had existed for over 50 years but surprisingly it had never had a chance to have access to hydro power
The grant was announced on Sunday July 23rd 2023, at a home hospitality occasion which was organised by Rotarians and Mr. Lubowa Ssebina Gyaviira at Kyaali Village, Bugabira Parish in Masaka City
The historic event also attracted the Emeritus Pope Nuncio to Belgium Archbishop Augustine Kasujja as the day’s main celebrant, the Rotary clubs of Wakiso, Nasana, Lukaya, Masaka, the Rotaract club of Wakiso Central plus key Traditional, Religious and political leaders
Archbishop Augustine Kasujja commended Rotarians for their commitment toward community transformation and cautioned the young generations for their disrespect amongst the elderly.
Rotarian Lubowa Ssebina Gyaviira, the hospitality occasion host said, him together with the Rotary club of Wakiso chose to offer electricity to St. Bruno Primary school as part of their projects to schools which will uplift the education standards in the school, and wondered why some schools and areas in Masaka city are up to now not connected to the National grid
“The Rotary club is supporting our country with many projects like the Nkozi accident and trauma center, the Cancer ward at Nsambya hospital, water project, the boy child uplift project etc. Such projects are transforming communities, and we are glad that the Lubowa Ssebina Foundation will soon start the construction of a Modern Netball Court which will host National games.” Mr. Ssebina said
Mr. Benard Kimeze Ssebugga of the Rotary club of Wakiso said they chose to support rural government schools like St. Bruno Ndegeya Primary.
Clan leaders including Omutaka Muteesasira Keeya Tendo of “Engo clan”, and Omutaka Kasujja Kakande Kibirige of “Engeye clan” cautioned Ugandans on the quality of leadeers they entrust power with and advised them to consider leaders that can transform theie communities with tangible developments.
Eng. Richard Sebamala, the Bukoto Central Legislator and Pokino Jude Muleke applauded Rotarian Lubowa Ssebina for always supporting his community, the church and the Kingdom of Buganda
