BUKOMANSIMBI: Senior Presidential Advisor/Head, Office of the National Chairman Hajjati Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has threatened to wage war against land grabbers country wide whom she accuse to be known government officials.
Hajjati Namyalo was on Sunday September 24th, speaking to hundreds of Muslims at Budda village, Kibinge sub county in Bukomansimbi District during Hajj Khasim Mukiibi’s Duwa where she was Chief Guest.
Namyalo said, with the ongoing mismanagement of land issues in Uganda, the NRM ruling party is likely to lose 40% of its support as a result of land grabbers in government.
“When I met the President of Uganda on Friday, I told him about our plans to strike about the recent court ruling which favored landlords other than tenants. If we had 60% support in Uganda, we are likely to score 20% because of land grabbing. We are going to petition Parliament the law making institution to amend the said articles favoring landlords against tenants.” Namyalo said
She wondered why most of land conflicts are rotating around religious owned properties
“Most of land grabbers are in government but they are contributing to loss of NRM’s support. It’s totally bad to torture the common people.” She added.
Namyalo called upon all stakeholders to join hands to fight for land justice for the common people in Uganda
The Super Supreme Mufti of Uganda Sheik Muhammad Galabuzi asked government through Hajjat Namyalo to equally allocate government programmes to the two Muslim factions at Old Kampala and Kibuli because the supreme council at Kibuli is no longer under Old Kampala faction which was registered as a private company
“The Muslim fraternity in Uganda is united but we have different modes of doing work. We are no longer under Uganda Muslim supreme Council which is a company by shares. We have a known structure at Kibuli with an Executive, management, general Assembly, District Khadhis and Imaams. Therefore, government should understand that we are existing and independent and not ready to return at Old Kampala.” Supreme Mufti Galabuzi said.
Super Supreme Mufti also asked Muslims to stop crying for lost properties but to fight hard to retain the remaining estates. In Masaka, Sheik Galabuzi said some properties like the Pepsi Cola house are yet to be taken over by individuals and asked the regional Khadhi Sheik Sulait Ssentongo to rescue the Muslim properties.
Hajji Shafic Mwanje, Bukomansimbi NRM boss said he will equally not hesitate to fight land grabbers in the district who had threatened to evict over 1000 tenants from Budda Village.
He asked the Super Supreme Mufti and ONC’s Namyalo to investigate circumstances under which the Ssembabule Muslim Land Case was pushed to March 2024 at Masaka High Court. He praised Hajjati Namyalo for her dynamic and aggressive mobilization skills
At the same function, Senior Presidential Advisor/Head, Office of the National Chairman Hajjati Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye donated tailoring Machines, Saloon machines like dryers and hair trimmers plus a brick making machine to youth and women in Bukomansimbi to boost their household incomes.
The Office of the National Chairman NRM is established in accordance with chapter 4; clause 14 sub section 1 of the NRM Constitution as adopted on 31st March, 2003 which spells out the roles of the National Chairman of NRM.
