KYOTERA: The Kyotera District Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Apollo Mugume on saturday March 4th 2023 officially opened the new Administration block on behalf of the Rt. Hon Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.
The Shs1.4b building whose construction started in 2018, had stalled for about a year after district officials failed to allocate funds to complete the work.
While commissioning the building, RDC Apollo Mugume praised the government for fulfilling its promise.
The function was graced by Kyotera District legislators including Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya of Kakuuto county and Hon. Fortunate Rose Nantongo the district woman MP, area leaders, religious leaders among others.
The building, has more than 72 rooms, which will house a council, hall, a boardroom and staff offices.
Since the creation of the district in 2017, the staff have been occupying buildings of Kasaali Town Council after branching off two kilometers, off the Kampala – Mutukula road.
Kyotera district officially started operations on 1st July 2017. it was curved from Rakai in 2015. The district headquarters were established at Kasaali which was the headquarters of Kasaali Sub County.
Kasaali automatically became a Town Council joining Kotera and Kalisizo town councils.
In total, Kyotera is now made up of three town councils and nine sub counties. The sub counties are Kakuuto, Kyebe, Kasasa, Kibanda, Kifamba, Kasaali Lwankoni, Kabira and Kirumba.
