MASAKA: The Lions Club of Masaka has reshuffled its leadership with a call not to neglect its main mission of helping those in need.
The event was held at the Maple Leaf Hotel in Masaka as the Lions Club of Masaka and Lions Club of Masaka City changed their leadership to further take the cause of the people forward.
Lion Rose Nantale Nsereko, the elected President of the Lions Club of Masaka district, said that in Uganda there are children suffering from cancer, hunger, while others are suffering from diabetes with No One to Help.
“We are obliged as volunteer to help those in need, to give without hesitation to save vulnerable children.” she said.
She also urged her elected colleagues to prioritize unity, communication and self-respect, so that they can serve those in need.
Lion Richard Aboko, the former President of Masaka, said they were able to help more than 33,000 people last year, including those who were starving in Karamoja, donating equipment to Bukeeri Healthy Center III and Buwunga Healthy Center III , where women were giving birth on the floor, as well as planting more than six thousand trees to save the environment, and asked the elected leaders to continue from the listed achievements
Lion Catherine Aloyo, the National Water and Sewage Corporation (NWSC) Procurement Officer, Masaka, was elected as the Lions Club of Masaka City.
Lion Aden Kamugisha, who was the Chief Guest urged the leadership, and Members of the Lions Club of Masaka City and district to find ways to raise funds, run the Lions Club Works.
Over 1.5million was fundraised to procure beddings for NAZARETH CHILDREN’S HOME Nyendo, where most vulnerable children sleep on the floor with no beddings.
