HEALTH: The Makerere School of Public Health METS Program has boosted Eight Regional Referral Hospitals with Health Information Systems equipment worth UGX 643M to facilitate the transition from paper based to electronic records.
The equipment was procured with funding from the United States Government through Center for Disease Control (CDC).
The eight beneficiary Regional Referral Hospitalss include; Mubende, Masaka, Entebbe, Naguru, Arua, Jinja, Mbarara, and Kabale
The equipment was handed over by the METS program Director Ms. Alice Namale and received by Dr. Daniel Kyabayinze, the Director Public Health who represented Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwine.
The Equipment will be distributed to 8 regional referral hospitals in a bid to digitalize the health sector
METS Program is a Monitoring and Evaluation Program in Makerere School of Public Health with an aim of strengthening and supporting the Ugandan Health System.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng on Sunday April 2nd 2023, launched the construction of Lwebitakuri Health Center IV in Mawogola West County, sembabule District.
Lwebitakuli HC IV construction project which will cost one billion Uganda Shillings is going to be implemented by the UPDF.
The Launch was witnessed by the State minister of Health and Mawogola West Member of Parliament Hajjat Hanipher Kawooya and other area members of parliament representing different constituencies in Ssembabule District
