CATHOLIC CHURCH: Unknown robbers on Sunday night attacked and vandalised the Chapel of Nswanjere Junior Seminary, stole property and injured one Reverand Father and a Brother.
According to the official statement released on Monday March 20th by the Kampala Archdiocese Chancellor Fr. Pius Male Ssentumbwe, robbers vandalised the chapel, stole property and injured the Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mukukule and Bro. John Bosco Mwaasa who are providentially in stable condition.
“During this cruel incidence the Tabernacle was unfortunately deconsecrated. Because of this act of violation, the Archbishop summons all people of God into a Triduum of prayer for an act of reparation. These three days of reparation will begin on Tuesday the 21st of March to Thursday the 23rd of March 2023,” the statement reads
The Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has asked Christians to join in prayer to pray for healing, repentance and restitution of God’s Glory.
On each of the days Christians are requested to set aside an hour for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Nswanjere Junior Seminary is located 32 Kms on Kampala Mityana Highway. The Seminary was founded in 1964 by Archbishop Joseph Kiwanuka to act as a nursery bed for priestly vocations. That’s why it is popularly known as the “Kalimiro (Nursery bed)”
Catholic boys between the ages of 9 and 13 years are admitted in Primary four, and Primary five to not only help them decern their calling to the Priesthood but to mould them into all-round, academically competent, morally upright and spiritually sound citizens of society.
