Uganda’s Ambassador to Kenya Dr. Galiwango dies in Nairobi Hospital
Uganda’s High Commissioner to Kenya and Seychelles, Dr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango, has died in Nairobi where he had been admitted.
The Ministry of Foreign affairs has confirmed the death of Ambassador Galiwango, adding that burial arrangements will be “communicated in due course”.
Dr Galiwango was appointed to the position in June 2021. He has been serving as ambassador to Seychelles as well as Uganda’s permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-HABITAT..
Before his appointment as high commissioner, Galiwango was Director of finance and administration at the NRM secretariat where he served for a long time.The cause of his death is yet to be communicated by the government.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of H.E Dr Galiwango, High Commissioner of Uganda to Kenya, which occurred this morning,” the Minister for East African Affairs Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga twitted.

Amb. Dr. Galiwango was the first High Commissioner of Uganda to present letters of credence to the President of Seychelles, which was a precursor for closer and deeper cooperation between the two countries.
